BRATISLAVA. Before the season, Aleksandar Čavrič had already packed, handed over the apartment. He should have headed to Russia, or to one of the clubs that belong to the Arab world.
However, Čavrič stayed and helped Slovan significantly with his goals in the fall.
“Without Čavrič, we wouldn’t be where we are today. This applies to the domestic league as well as Europe. He is an excellent footballer. At the moment, I can’t imagine the team without him. He puts his heart into the game and has great quality,” coach Vladimír said back in the fall Weiss st.
In the spring, however, it is likely that Slovan’s top scorer will no longer help.
Čavrič will probably leave
“Compared to the summer, his departure is hotter, it’s a bit more real. Čavrič will most likely leave. Maybe he needs a change,” admitted Ivan Kmotrík, CEO of Slovan, at a media briefing on Wednesday.
“They want him in Japan, China and the surrounding countries. The offers are interesting for the player and the club,” admitted Kmotrík. According to him, a decision should be made in the next three to four days.
The Transfermarkt server estimates the price of Čavrič at two million euros.
Kmotrík also admitted that Slovan is still negotiating the arrival of Róbert Polievka, who is the top scorer in the Slovak Niké League with ten goals.
Slovan registers offers for four players, including Lucas Lovat. The Slovak champion started spring training on Wednesday.
Slovan wants to strengthen in several positions, the return of Georgian midfielder Giorgi Chakvetadze is also mentioned.
He is still a Gent player, but is currently on loan at England’s Watford.
Weiss feels good
“It is on the level of our desires, but it is not very realistic. I am in contact with his agent, but there have been some changes in the club where he plays, and the club’s position is negative in the case of hosting,” added Kmotrík.
Trainer Vladimír Weiss can already count on his son of the same name, who suffered from an achilles tendon during the fall:
“Vlado is going to training, we must thank everyone who took care of him. But he feels good and is healthy. I believe that he will last and practically we will have a new player for the spring part,” said coach Weiss.
