Retro 2D action game“Cave Story+ Cave Story”Will be distributed free of charge for a limited time from September 1st to September 8th at the Epic Games Store.
Cave Story is a Japanese 2D action game released for free in 2004. The player controls the main character, Quote, and explores the cave to learn about his lost memories and the world.
It features retro-style graphics, music, a serious development that you can’t imagine from the picture, exquisite level design, and a highly difficult back stage created by adopting multiple endings. Beyond Japan’s free games, it has gained popularity both in Japan and overseas, and has been published in overseas Time magazines in the past.
“Cave Story+” is a paid version of “Cave Story” that allows you to change the time attack and difficulty level, and is available on Nintendo Switch and PC (Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store). This game has been unusually popular for a free game in Japan, so don’t forget to get it if you don’t have it yet.
