Cavaliers President of Basketball Operations Koby Altmanwas arrested last Friday night in Cleveland for driving under the influence of alcohol, according to various local media reports.
Around 9 p.m., a state highway patrol stopped the white Lexus driven by the head coach of the Cavaliers on a central road in the city of Ohio after committing a traffic violation.
Once stopped, the agents observed Altman signs of being under the influence of alcohol, but the Cavs manager refused to submit to the breathalyzer test, which did not prevent him from being arrested on the charge of driving under the influence.
The Cavs have issued a statement saying they are aware of the incident, but have declined to make any further comment until they gather all the information about what happened.
Altman joined the Cavs front office in 2012 after a brief college playing career at Middlebury College and various assistant jobs on various NCAA benches. He has been the head of the Cleveland franchise since 2017, when he replaced David Griffinand, in January 2022, he was promoted to the position of President of Basketball Operations.
