HOUSTON (AP) – Collin Sexton scored 39 points and the Cleveland Cavaliers beat the Houston Rockets 101-90 on Monday night, suffering their 12th straight loss.
The Cavaliers have won four games in a row after losing their previous 10 games.
Cleveland led by 10 points in the fourth quarter before John Wall scored Houston’s six points in a 6-2 run that cut the margin to 95-89 with three minutes remaining.
The Cavaliers scored the next four goals with the help of a Darius Garland steal to restore the 10-minute mattress a minute later.
This is Houston’s worst streak since losing 15 in a row in 2011 and the first time the Rockets have lost in five straight home games since March 2006. Wall’s performance was the only thing that kept them in the game. He entered halftime with 23 points, and finished with 32, his highest number of the season.
Houston led by a point early in the fourth quarter after Ben McLemore’s 3-pointer, but the Cavaliers scored the next 13 points to take a 90-78 lead. Cedi Osman had two 3s in that span and Sexton contributed five points.
