The level of France’s blood reserves is historically low, a critical situation in this holiday period, which could prove dangerous in the short term for treating patients.
Organized over three consecutive mornings, from Monday to Wednesday at the Espace Bonnaïs in Caussade, the blood collection at the French Blood Establishment did not experience the usual mobilization of voluntary donors, perhaps due to the period of holidays or scorching temperatures. In total, one hundred and forty donors came to reach out, which enabled one hundred and thirty-one samples to be taken, including five from new donors. The president of the friendly for voluntary blood donation of Quercy caussadais Sébastien Fargal and his team would like to thank all the donors who have mobilized for this just cause. He recalls that to donate blood, it is possible to do so with or without an appointment, depending on the availability of the donors. Making an appointment is therefore not compulsory. To become a volunteer, you can contact 06 12 35 37 93.
The next collections in Caussade will take place on Tuesday October 4 from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and Wednesday October 5 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.; Thursday December 29 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Friday December 30 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., at Espace Bonnaïs.
