The Ehpad Le Jardin d’Émilie was at the heart of the discussions on Monday morning, as to its future and its evolution.
At Le Jardin d’Émilie de Caussade nursing home, Monday morning, a meeting was organized between the management of the establishment represented by the director Murielle Vermeersch and the chairman of the supervisory board Claude Jeanjean, the regional director of the Regional Health Agency Didier Jaffre, the deputy for the constituency Valérie Rabault , the mayors of Caussade and Nègrepelisse Gérard Hébrard and Morgan Tellier, senior health executive Cristelle Darribet and union representatives. The purpose of this meeting was to define the contours of a project to rebuild a new establishment in order to meet changing needs. After a detailed presentation of the state of play in terms of infrastructure, equipment and personnel by the director, as well as the argument developed by the deputy Valérie Rabault, Didier Jaffre encouraged the partners to move forward quickly and refine their project by involving liberal doctors, radiology centers, analysis laboratories to rebuild more than an Ehpad. “Go ahead! Banco for a local hospital!”, he said after listening carefully to all the protagonists and taking the time to visit the city and its Monday market before the meeting.
A strategic issue
The reconstruction of the Caussade hospital center is a strategic challenge to boost projects and bring an evolving and forward-looking vision to the territory. A real estate master plan being prepared and finalized by the end of June 2023 will set the strategic guidelines that will impact the future of the construction of the new hospital in the healthcare offer proposed for the Caussade basin. On the territory of the Midi-Quercy country, the opportunity for the Caussade hospital center is to register it as a reference establishment for the care offer, to integrate it as a pivotal establishment in city/hospital partnerships, to respond the health needs of its very rural population and with an aging demographic evolution. The choice of the future location in the rural district of Colombié was approved by the Supervisory Board, but was not unanimously approved, particularly in the opinion of the deputy who considered the location too far in relation to the desired synergy with Negrepelisse and placed in a dangerous bend. Be that as it may, the project is on track and now has every chance of being carried out for better working conditions and for the well-being of the residents.
