Like other flu illnesses, Singapore flu symptoms usually begins with fever, unwell, weakness, sore throat, and no appetite.
After a day or two after the fever, the patient will find a rash and small spots such as blisters filled with fluid on the soles of the feet, hands, mouth, and the inside of the mouth.

Singapore flu sufferers can transmit the disease during the first week when sick.
The virus that causes Singapore flu can be lodged in the fluid from blisters, feces, mucus, phlegm, and saliva.
Singapore flu disease can be transmitted when a person:
- Close contact such as hugging with the patient
- Touching the patient’s skin with rashes or blisters
- Sharing eating utensils with sufferers
- Inhaling splashes of coughing or sneezing sufferers
- Touching the patient’s feces (when changing diapers), then not washing their hands
- Touching an object or surface of an object that is exposed to the Singapore flu virus
After being exposed to the virus that causes the Singapore flu, people who contract this disease will feel symptoms of the disease within three to seven days.
Not everyone has symptoms, especially adults who catch Singapore flu from children.
Although asymptomatic, people who have contracted the Singapore flu can still transmit the disease to others.
To prevent the transmission of this disease, everyone is advised not to have close contact and share eating utensils with people with Singapore flu.
In addition, keep the environment clean and wash your hands frequently with soap and running water to prevent contracting diseases, including the Singapore flu. Especially before touching your face, after using the bathroom, and before eating.
