PREMIER The League as the operator of the Premier League has released the 2020-2021 season schedule which will resume starting on September 12, 2020. However, there are two matches that will experience delays.
Burnley versus Manchester United should have played their match at the Turf Moor Stadium, as scheduled. However, because the Red Devils squad – nicknamed Man United – underwent the 2020 Europa League semifinals, the operator gave them a longer break.

Another match that has been postponed is the match between Manchester City which will host Aston Villa at the Etihad Stadium. Pep Guardiola’s team also got longer rest time because they competed in the 2019-2020 Champions League quarter-finals.
In the quarter-finals, Man City lost 1-3 to their opponent, Olympique Lyon, on Sunday, August 16, 2020. Likewise, Man United were eliminated in the semifinals after beating Sevilla with a score of 1-2.
Finding this delay, Burnley’s coach, Sean Dyche, commented. He confirmed that he would not give his team a longer break, even though there was a delay in the match.
“We have received this information, we will not change the schedule. We have given the players a few days off, we will not add more holidays for them,” Dyche said, quoting Talk Sport, Friday (21/8/2020).
Dyche thinks the delay can provide positive things for his squad, but can also have a bad impact on his team.
“This is a double-edged sword. It gives you a break and gives us the opportunity to see what happened in the first week (Premier League 2020-2021),” he said.
