LENGKONG, AYOBANDUNG.COM – Have you ever felt dizziness and increased heart rate when standing? In medical terms, this condition is referred to as postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome or POTS.
In this condition, a person will feel dizzy and the heart rate increases when standing. This condition will subside when they sit or rest.
“In the case of POTSdizziness or fainting is also accompanied by rapid increase in heart rate more than 30 beats per minute or a heart rate that exceeds 120 beats per minute, within 10 minutes of rising,” said a report by the US National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke.

The problem is worrying when a person stands straight, it goes away at rest or when the person sits down.
Common symptoms POTS is feeling dizzy when standing. But not only that, there are several other signs that a person experiences at the same time.
For example, a person may experience fatigue, shakiness, brain fog or difficulty concentrating and heart palpitations along with the main condition.
Many people also faint under the pressure of the condition. People who have POTS may also have unusual symptoms such as headache, bloating, constipation, sleep deprivation or insomnia, intolerance to heat and shortness of breath.
