Saltillo, Coah.- The IMSS Coahuila delegate, Leopoldo Santillán, pointed out that the current shortage of medicines is due to the fact that vulnerable groups are the main ones to be affected by COVID-19, which is why the demand for some keys has increased up to 400 percent.
The representative of the institution in Coahuila affirmed that they are collateral ravages that the pandemic has produced.
He pointed out that most of the keys have to do with diseases that fall into the vulnerable group in the face of the health crisis and that demand specific keys, such as diabetics, hypertensive people, people with obesity, people who are cured with hypercholestenia, patients who are being treated for cancer or an oncological disease, or patients with a rheumatological problem.
He noted that it is an issue that has been seen at the national level and that it has been resolved in the march during the pandemic.
“That has been seen in the keys and exhaustion, which is a national issue that has been resolved. We have had crisis in insulin Glargine, in some oncological treatments, we have had problems with some antihypertensive drugs such as Losartan, which is a battlefield drug, and also all the supplies to combat COVID-19 ”, he explained.
He added that although the arrival of the drugs may be delayed, the supply is resolved, since the need to purchase them is foreseen within the budget.
“We have corrected, because a budget is always estimated to support emergent purchases and guarantee the supply of the prescription and for hospital use. In the cases that we have had problems with national suppliers, it is at the central level who has solved.
