Kochi: Health Minister Veena George said in the preliminary post-mortem report that four people, including students, died due to breathing problems in a stampede during a music program at Kochi University. His lungs were injured and he was unable to breathe. The post-mortem report also states that the students sustained injuries on their neck and chest.
“60 people, including the four who died, were brought to the Kalamasery Medical College Hospital. Out of 56 injured people, 32 are currently in the ward and three are in the ICU. Two of Aster are in ICU. Their condition remains serious. 18 people sought treatment at Kinder Hospital. 16 of them were discharged. The person who sought treatment at Sunrise Hospital was discharged yesterday,” said Veena George.
The tragic incident that shook the country was yesterday. Students Atul Thambi (21), Ann Rufta (21), Sarah Thomas (20) and Alvin Joseph, a native of Palakkad Mundur, died in the accident.
