The Association of Cattle Breeders, in the municipality of Porto Amboim (Cuanza Sul), yesterday called for the rapid construction of the agricultural-pastoral irrigated perimeter in the locality, an expense foreseen in a presidential order, valued at more than 75 million euros. Speaking today to ANGOP, regarding the agro-pastoral irrigation project, foreseen in presidential order 37/23, of 24 February, the president of the Cattle Breeders’ Association, António Saraiva dos Santos, said that he awaits the start of implementation of the project.
“If this project is feasible, we will need to interact with the Government through the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and the company to which the work is awarded, to define the aforementioned locations, as we do not have any information about the project”, he said. the cattle breeder. Likewise, the cattle breeder, Maria dos Prazeres, argued that “the North and East areas of Porto Amboim are, above all, the most affected, as people take water for human consumption where the cattle are watered.
Presidential Order The document formalizes the opening of the simplified contracting procedure for the design/construction project of the irrigation system in the Agro-pastoral region of Porto Amboim”. The contract for construction will be signed with the company CONDURIL – Engenharia, SA. The aforementioned order provides that the Ministry of Finance must ensure the financial resources necessary to implement the aforementioned contract inherent to the project.
