Here is a new video report Catsuka Special dedicated Masaaki Yuasa and his last movie Inu-Oh at the comic book festivalAngouleme 2022.
Last March with my friend Alex Pilot we went to Angoulme for the French premiere of this film by Yuasa (& the studio Science Saru) who was also invited to lead the projectionand give a conference. A exposition dedicated to the film was also organized during the festival.
We filmed all those moments, and we produced a video of 6 minutes dedicate these memories, with subtitles English and French.
“Inu-Oh” is out next week on Blu-Ray at tats-Unisit was released last month in a beautiful box set at the Japanand it is still a project currently in French cinemas.
Masaaki Yuasa is a legendary animator and director (Mind Game, Ping Pong, Kemonozume, Kaiba, Tatami Galaxy, Eizouken, Devilman Crybaby, Lu over the wall…), and one of my favorite artists, as you probably know. You can find many news concerning him for 20 years on Catsuka, as well as some will see on the Catsuka Player.
I hope you enjoy this video report, originally posted last month on my Patreonand whose quality obviously depends greatly on the talents of cameraman/editor/director of Alex Pilot (co-founder of the Nolife channel).
Many thanks also to Fausto Fasulo for allowing us to film the conference (and Laurent Duroche and Shoko Takahashi for hosting it).
