Believers of the Minsk-Mogilev Archdiocese of the Roman Catholic Church in Belarus were allowed not to abstain from eating meat dishes on Friday, March 8. This follows from information Roman Catholic Church in Belarus.
They explained that according to the Code of Canon Law, abstinence from meat dishes should be observed on all Fridays throughout the year, except those on which any celebration occurs, including International Women’s Day.
“Based on canon 87 §1, Metropolitan Joseph Stanevsky of Minsk-Mogilev gives a dispensation on the territory of the archdiocese (liberation. – Approx.) from abstaining from eating meat dishes for believers over 14 years of age on Friday, March 8, 2024,” the message says.
