Catholic schools in NYC suspend mask mandate

The Diocese of Brooklyn and the Archdiocese of New York plan to suspend their indoor mask mandates for all of their schools, effective after the statewide measure ends.

According to the Archdiocese, masks for children and adults will be recommended but not required.

While the Diocese of Brooklyn indicates that face coverings will be optional for staff and a choice for parents of students.

Mayor Adams said the city will remove its indoor mask mandate for city public schools next Monday, as long as COVID-19 cases continue to decline.
