Great wrath befell the people
At that time there arose in Israel a sinful king, Antiochus Epiphanes, the son of King Antiochus.
He was once a hostage in Rome. Antiochus Epiphanes became king in the thirty-seventh year of Greece. At that time some wicked men came out of Israel, and many said, “Let us make a treaty with the nations around us. “
