British celebrities and royals are united by a common craze for a hobby familiar to Finns.
The British newspaper Daily Mail reported at the beginning of September that several British celebrities have fallen in love with a hobby familiar to Finns, i.e. open-mouth swimming.
The Daily Mail raves that open swimming has many health benefits and helps release the brain’s pleasure hormone.
According to the magazine, along with singer Ed Sheeran and the Beckham family, Princess Catherine is also a big fan of open swimming.
The cold doesn’t hurt
Catherine revealed that she enjoys open swimming The Good, the Bad & the Rugby podcast last year. One of the hosts of the podcast is William’s cousin Zara Tindall’s husband, Mike Tindall.
Catherine said that she absolutely loves swimming in cold waters.
– The colder, the better, Catherine said in the podcast.
According to Catherine, her husband Prince William even thinks she’s a little crazy, especially if his wife goes out in the rain or in the dark. However, Catherine doesn’t let her husband’s comments stop her.

Camilla is also known to be a fan of cold waters. He revealed in a documentary published in 2022 Camilla’s Country Life.
– I don’t mind if the water is cold. I think I’m used to it since I was a kid. It just doesn’t bother me anymore after I get in the water and breathe for a while. After swimming, I feel really good, Camilla said.
