Cathay Pacific to add Munich and Brussels routes

Cathay Pacific Spreads Its Wings Across Europe with New Routes and Increased Flights

Hong Kong’s flagship carrier, Cathay Pacific, is gearing up for an exciting expansion across Europe in 2025. Get ready for new connections, increased flight frequencies, and more convenient travel options.

Starting June 16, 2025, Cathay Pacific will touch down in Munich, Germany, with four weekly flights connecting the Bavarian capital to its vibrant hub in Hong Kong. This marks a major milestone, becoming the airline’s 10th destination in Europe and opening up a gateway for travelers seeking to explore both regions.

"We are very excited to be adding Munich to our network for the very first time, as well as returning to Brussels next year, making these our 10th and 11th destinations in Europe, respectively," enthused Lavinia Lau, Cathay’s chief customer and commercial officer.

Belgium is also back on the map for Cathay Pacific. Flights between Brussels vows and the bustling metropolis of Hong Kong will resume on August 3, 2025, again operating four times weekly. This popular route was temporarily suspended in 2020 due to the global pandemic but will now soar back into the skies.

Both the Munich and Brussels routes will be served by Cathay Pacific’s modern and comfortable Airbus A350-900 aircraft, featuring business, premium economy, and economy cabins to cater to every traveler’s needs.

Cathay Pacific’s commitment to Europe goes beyond these two exciting new additions. The airline plans to significantly boost its flight frequency to the continent, bringing the total number of weekly flights to 93 by summer 2025. This represents a substantial increase from the current 78 flights per week.

Look forward to increased daily service from London Heathrow, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Manchester, Milan, Paris, and Zurich, providing more flexibility for business travelers and vacationers alike. Madrid and Barcelona will also see increased air connectivity with four flights per week. The latter route will operate as a seasonal summer service.

"Cathay Pacific has been flying non-stop to Europe for over four decades," Lau emphasizes, "and we remain very committed to this important market. In addition to launching these two routes, we are delighted to be adding more flights on our other European routes next summer.”

This ambitious expansion underlines Cathay Pacific’s confidence in the resurgence of international travel and its dedication to providing seamless connections between Asia, Europe, and beyond.

For American travelers planning European adventures or seeking to explore the dynamism of Hong Kong, Cathay Pacific’s expanded network offers a world of possibilities.
