BUTJiang Haijia“Cathay LIVE: Music up close AGA Music Sharing Session” was recently held at the Free Space Big Box in the West Kowloon Cultural District. This is the fourth installment of “Cathay LIVE: Music up close”. AGA takes this opportunity to give music fans an early Christmas gift, and even invites local jazz master Ted Lo to play the piano. The entire performance is an audio-visual feast. AGA specially took time to prepare for this performance during the “ONEDERFUL LIVE” tour. In order to celebrate Christmas early with the fans, everything is worth it.
AGA carefully prepared the song list for this performance, re-arranged all the songs and added jazz elements to fill the scene with a warm and joyful festival atmosphere. AGA integrates Jazz Standard with its own works, such as “Summer Time” and “CityPop”, and “Fever” and “Count to Ten”, etc. Each song has corresponding visual effects to make music fans more immersed in the atmosphere.
AGA mentioned that the first time he performed in a jazz bar when he was 16 years old was singing “Fever”. This time, he adapted his concert theme song “Count to Ten” into it. She also explained the purpose of choosing this playlist this time. She said, “I’m so happy tonight. It’s such an honor to perform with such an amazing jazz band. Each one of them is a unique musician. I can’t wait to play with the audience.” Such a close-up show, I actually sang at a jazz lounge before I entered the industry, so I brought a few songs that inspired me to share with you this time.”
AGA also mentioned the past when she worked as a flight attendant at Cathay Pacific before entering the industry. She said, “Before I debuted, I was a flight attendant. During the four years of being a flight attendant, I saw a lot of reunions and separations, which inspired me to write songs.” I would take out a napkin in my uniform and write demo lyrics. I remember asking Shu Wen, “It’s been three years, does anyone want these songs?” He told me, “Write 30 more songs first,” and then I wrote quietly, and then the work came out, like “Better Me”. I feel so happy when I think back to that experience.” Then he sang “MIZU” and “The Lovers”, which had only been exposed in concerts. AGA explained that this song was It describes the most romantic state of a pair of lovers and predicts that it will be officially released next year. Music fans should pay close attention.
In the middle of the concert, AGA sang “Between Reason and Willfulness”. Afterwards, she mentioned the origin of her start composing music and was grateful to Ted Lo for his encouragement: “I remember that I was so confused when I decided to quit my job and not become a flight attendant. I just knew what I wanted to do. Music, I wrote a lot of songs and sang a lot of demos. Thank you so much to Ted Lo, he was the first person I met when I started in the industry. He encouraged me to write songs, and it was also because of him that I met Shu Wen first.”
In addition to the works she created herself, AGA also selected three works that inspired her creation. She said: “There was a time when I played piano and sang in the lounge, and my own works would be mixed in. Every woman who is careful will imagine that some dramatic scenes will happen. After I was singing, someone came up and told me how nice the song was. I told him again, “Thank you, I wrote the song.” Although it didn’t happen in the end, I was very grateful for this period of time because different people requested the song. , which exposed me to many different types of music.” Then he sang the English hit “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow”.
The second song selected by AGA was “Eyes Wide Shut” by Eason Chan, which was the song that inspired her to write “Special One”. She said: “I found the digital sheet music of this song at home, and started playing it slowly to learn how to play the piano. I recognized the song first after playing it. I thought, ‘If you like weirdos, I am actually very good at it. The lyrics of “Beautiful” are so special, and the melody of the song is so nice. After I got into the industry, I got to know Eason and had the opportunity to write a song for him. I just released “Special One”, a duet with him earlier. I hope you don’t need to hide your feelings. Uniqueness, found my own Special One.” Then sang “The Christmas Song”.
During the interactive session, AGA read out the messages from fans hanging on the Christmas tree next to the stage. Some people wrote, “I hope AGA will become popular and hold concerts every year” and “May AGA always be with you and music.” She even picked out two lucky winners. , you can go backstage to meet and take photos, and give Christmas gifts in advance.
At the end of the concert, AGA sang “Author’s Theme” which inspired her to write “Night Without You”. She said, “Actually, I still have a lot of songs that I want to sing and share with you. I wrote all my previous concert hall shows by myself. “In fact, jazz has taken up a large part of my life. I hope I can play more adaptations in the future and move this playlist to a bigger stage to share it with everyone!” Then he walked to the stage to take photos with the fans. , and finally sang “Tonight” to bring the night to a successful conclusion. Music fans were reluctant to leave the concert at this point, shouting for an encore. Finally, AGA asked the audience to return to the stage and sang John Lennon’s famous song “Imagine” with the accompaniment of Ted Lo, which means world unity.
