“Where’s Enrico?” These were the first words of Lorena Wiebes just after her brilliant victory in Paris.
“It touches me very much. It was really her ultimate dream. To win on the Champs-Elysées with her brother,” says an emotional mother Wil Wiebes.
That brother has already swam through a lot of water. “I’ve been homeless,” says Enrico. “I was fighting to get money to get drugs. I was addicted to cocaine. Still, because you’ll be addicted for the rest of your life.”
It was so bad that Enrico’s father and mother had to take action. “We kicked him out of the house at one point. Then you won’t sleep well, of course. Where is your son? What is he doing now?”
“She didn’t have her brother anymore,” says Enrico. “Now she has it back a bit. Not quite yet, but that will come. This day is definitely 1 in my life. Whatever happens, it will always be 1.”
