Catania, man accused of killing his wife commits suicide in prison

Giuseppe Randazzo, the 50-year-old ceramist arrested by the police for lmurder of his wife Catya Di Stefano, aged 46, from whom he was separating. The man hanged himself in his cell.

He was found by the police next to his wife, in shock, in tears and in evident confusion. He was unable to provide any explanation to the agents about what happened. The woman was injured and the man had signs of a struggle. After a long interrogation, the Caltagirone prosecutor had decided to order the arrest. The autopsy will clarify the exact cause of death, which could be an internal brain hematoma or asphyxiation.

The victim was a social health worker who worked in the assistance of the disabled in Calatino. She was a strong and determined woman. As emerged from her Facebook profile, where she defined herself as “solar, extroverted, lover of life”, but at the same time: “I never give up, I hate false people, but above all I hate hypocrites and petty ones”.
