The latest news has generated a series of speculations around the Democratic Revolution deputy, Catalina Pérez, about alleged millionaire transfers from Democracia Viva. However, the deputy herself has come forward to address these accusations, categorically denying having received such sums of money.
In a statement issued on video, Catalina Pérez was emphatic in denying any deposit of more than 15 million pesos coming from Daniel Andrade or the Democracia Viva foundation, to which her ex-partner was linked. It is important to remember that Andrade is currently facing charges of tax fraud.
The deputy’s clarification arises after the Bío Bío Chile Investigation team revealed a series of banking movements that involved that sum of money in their accounts.
Pérez explained in detail that this million-dollar transfer corresponds to his own savings: “On November 5, 2021, long before any of the questioned agreements were signed, I made a time deposit at Banco Estado. In January 2023, 14 months later, I withdrew that deposit, with interest, through a voucher to deposit it in my Banco de Chile account. “They are my savings.”
He emphasized that he has not obtained illegitimate benefits from these agreements and regretted the dissemination of incorrect information by some media. “I have not stolen anything nor have I received any benefit from these agreements,” he stated forcefully.
The Antofagasta parliamentarian made it clear that she has not been summoned to testify in this case and has publicly reiterated that she has not received funds related to the questioned agreements, nor has she participated in their management in any way. Likewise, she has offered her checking accounts and communications for public scrutiny.
“My position is clear: I have nothing to hide,” Pérez concluded, reaffirming his willingness to collaborate with the authorities to clarify this situation and clear up any doubts about his conduct.
The commitment to transparency and truth are fundamental principles in this process, and Representative Pérez has emphasized her willingness to clarify any doubts that may arise around these events.
