New York, December 13 A cat that was lost for ten years in New York will cross the ocean to now live in Spain, the new home of her master, who will return to the city for his pet.
Richard Price, who after his retirement decided to live in Spain with his wife, could not believe that Mini was alive after searching for her for a long time.
“Oh my god, she’s alive, that’s amazing. And oh my god, we left her there,” was Price’s initial reaction after receiving a call from a Long Island animal shelter, according to NBC channel 4 .
“We feel elated and horrified at the same time,” Price added.
Mini went missing in July 2012 when she ran away from the house of Price’s sister-in-law who was caring for her and, despite an extensive search, posting leaflets and contacting veterinary offices, she could not be found.
Last week the cat was found and taken to the shelter. Mini was in bad shape because she hadn’t eaten enough and her fur was very matted, shelter director Linda Klamplf told NBC.
When shelter staff cleaned it out, they discovered it had a microship that took them to its owner, who is now in Spain after retiring last year.
Despite the condition in which she was found, Mini, who is 13 today, is still healthy and on the road to full recovery to get back to normal and start her new life in Spain.
Meanwhile, Mini will be waiting for her owner and his wife, who will be picking her up in January, at a relative’s house on Long Island. EFE extension
