Cat S75 phone supports Bullitt’s satellite SMS service and costs 599 euros – Tablets and phones – News

The Cat S75 is the first smartphone to support Bullitt’s satellite SMS service. The sturdy smartphone is made by Bullitt and is the European version of the Motorola Defy 2. Bullitt also announces a bluetooth dongle that supports the satellite SMS service.

The Bullitt Satellite Messenger service allows users to send and receive text messages via satellites. Bullitt has announced the first two phones to support this service, both appearing in different parts of the world and featuring the same specs. To the Netherlands and Belgium comes the Cat S75 phone. This smartphone has a 6.6″ screen with FHD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 120Hz. The SMS service works with a MediaTek chip; the phone therefore has a Dimensity 930-soc. In addition, the device has 6GB memory and 128GB storage , which can be expanded with a microSD card.

The battery is 5000mAh and supports Qi wireless charging. Wired, the phone can be charged with a maximum of 15W. The phone has three rear cameras, a 50-megapixel sensor, 8-megapixel wide-angle camera and a 2-megapixel macro camera. On the front is an 8-megapixel sensor.

The device has ip68 and ip69k certifications. According to Bullitt, the phone can withstand a drop from 1.8 meters onto a steel plate and can also be used to a depth of 5 meters. The phone ships with Android 12 and gets two Android upgrades and five years of security updates.

The Cat S75 costs 599 euros and comes with a three-month free Bullitt Satellite Messenger subscription that allows you to send up to thirty satellite messages. After that, the subscription can be purchased from 5 euros per month.

Motorola Defy Satellite Link

For phones without built-in Satellite Messenger support, Bullitt introduces the Motorola Defy Satellite Link Bluetooth dongle. It can be paired with an Android or iOS device to connect to satellites for the satellite SMS service. In addition, the device has a physical SOS button and location check-in button. This device has a 600mAh battery with which the device should be able to work for several days. The Motorola Defy Satellite Link is available from April for 119 euros.
