Around 9.7 million views and almost two million likes: Owner Mace probably didn’t expect so much attention when she filmed her cats’ encounter and later on her TikTok channel Misery uploaded. After all, what should come of it when two velvet paws meet? Even if they don’t know each other. Very simple: A funny video that the community can’t get enough of.

Admittedly, for the eight-and-a-half-month-old tomcat Saintrick Terrell, whom mistress only calls Saint for short, the meeting is pretty exciting. After all, he was the first cat in the house and didn’t expect his new roommate at all. “My cat has never seen another cat before this interaction,” explains owner Mace in the clip, in which tomcat Saint meets his own brother and not just any other cat.

When Saint discovers the stranger in the living room, he can hardly believe his eyes. He stares at the sofa in disbelief and flattens his ears – a sign in cat-speak that they are tense or anxious. The cat’s tail provides further signals about the mood of the velvet paws. While all the alarm bells are ringing for Saint, his brother is calm himself. He lies relaxed on the couch and watches what Saint is doing down there.
He has now woken up from his shock, runs to the head of the sofa and keeps jumping up the cushion to keep an eye on the “intruder”. He then runs to the other end and watches the other cat from a safe distance. The whole thing looks so funny that people on the internet are having a great time.

The cat Saint has now overcome his initial skepticism. Because shortly after the merger, the two cats have already approached something. Similar to cat Moosey and her new roommate. In an update video, the two velvet paws even fight with each other – just like real siblings should. With around 9.7 million views and almost two million likes, the video of the first encounter remains the undisputed number one in the community, which diligently comments on the clip.
