After battling for two years, American singer Cat Janice lost her battle against the disease on Wednesday. “In her childhood home and surrounded by her loving family, Catherine welcomed the light and love of our heavenly creator this morning,” her family wrote in a message shared on social media.
“We are eternally grateful for the outpouring of love Catherine and our family have received over the past few months,” the statement continued. “Cat saw her music grow into something she never expected. Knowing that she will continue to care for her son through her music, she can now rest in peace. Without all of you, this wouldn’t have been possible.”

On April 1, 2022, disaster struck for Cat Janice and her family. Doctors diagnosed synovial sarcoma, cancer in the muscle tissue of her neck. She entered the battle together with her friends, family and fans. And with success, just three months later the tumor was “only half as big”.
Janice resumed her music career and the eccentric singer seemed to have left again. Until cancer was diagnosed again in May 2023, this time in her lungs. “I’m going to have to start treatment again,” she told her followers in an emotional video. “But I’m trying to be strong, I’ll keep you informed. Thank you for all the support.”
Unfortunately, her treatment did not work this time and at the beginning of this year Janice announced that she was terminal. The singer put all her energy into one last song. “I thought the world should hear this song. My dying wish is that you share and listen to this song, all proceeds go to my 7-year-old son,” she wrote on TikTok. A few days after her call, the song has already been listened to millions of times. In no time, Janice’s ‘Dance You Outta My Head’, that’s the name of the song, reached seventh place in iTunes Worldwide. The song then reached number one in Romania, Ireland and the Czech Republic.
