Castres. Swimming: bronze and silver for Camille Tissandié

During the French Winter Elite swimming championships held in Montpellier, Camille Tissandié won two gold medals (200 and 400 m medley), a silver (400 m freestyle) and a bronze (200m butterfly). The 17-year-old swimmer from Castres Sports Nautiques then entered through the front door into the big leagues. The day after her exploits, and between two tests of the white baccalaureate and her more than 20 hours of weekly training, she then told us about her future goals. If the young swimmer mentioned the 2024 Olympic Games and her ambitions to qualify for the senior world championships, she also turned to a closer target. “The real objective is in April. There are the French championships in Limoges which are qualifiers for all the French teams, the World championships… This is where you will have to really perform” confided Camille Tissandié. These French Elite championships have just taken place and Camille has once again had the opportunity to complete her collection of medals. After a 5th place in the B final of the 200m freestyle and the 11th fastest time in the 200m butterfly series, the resident of the Font Romeu national training center got to the heart of the matter by confronting her favorite distances and events. . By setting a time of 2’17”53 in the 200m medley, Camille took second place in the heats behind Béthunoise Cyrielle Duhamel. A North-South duel which was to once again turn to the advantage of the Northerner on the occasion of the final. By improving her time by more than 3 seconds compared to the heats, Camille nevertheless won a nice silver medal. A few days later, we took the same ones and we started over 400 meters medley this time. Cyrielle Duhamel dominated the series while Camille rose to 3rd place in these qualifications (4’57”04), Alexandra Dobrain having slipped between the two young women. A trio who would also monopolize, in the same order, the places on the podium during the final where Camille Tissandié therefore adorned himself with bronze (4’49”02).
