Bolegason organizes the eighth edition of Primeurs de Castres on 3, 4 and 5 November. Also this year, 15 groups or artists, after releasing their first album, will be honored in this festival dedicated to emergence and discovery.
Two stages, 15 groups, three days… The formula is now well established. Also this year Lo Bolegason renews the experience of Primeurs de Castres, organized in collaboration with the contemporary music scene Paul B de Massy. But an edition of Les Primeurs is never like the others and it is difficult to know which artist will stand out on the great chessboard of today’s music.
This is the whole goal of this festival: to make you travel off the often borrowed paths, defend diversity and avoid too coherent programming by going from rooster to donkey with joy. “You have to let yourself be carried away by discovery, surprise and encounters,” says Olivier Nicaise, director of Bolegason for years. In the meantime, we still offer you an overview of the program unearthed and meticulously invented by the Futures team.
Claire Days, Achile, LewisOfMan, Juicy and An’Pagay will open the festival on Thursday November 3rd from 7pm. Simply put, Claire Days, this young woman with raw energy, will offer inhabited folk, dark pop and indie rock with her album “Emotional Territory”. Between piano and bass voice, rapper Achile will tell you about his life and that of others, of a generation that is coming of age in a funny mess, with sincerity and a pinch of self-irony. LewisOfMan, a hyperactive young Parisian producer dedicated to electronic groove, will offer a mix of Italian pop and club music with a pinch of poetry. Among hip-hop production, Juicy the Brussels duo excels at blurring the boundaries between organic, electronic and acoustic. And finally, discover An’Pagay and the large pot of the 4000 collective that never stops boiling and delight us with its multi-ethnic flavors.
An enchanted parenthesis
The next day, Friday 4 November, it will be the turn of Emma Peters, revealed by her covers of hits in voice-guitar broadcast from her room on the big canvas, to take the stage of the Bolegason with her album “Sunday”. Then it will be the turn of Oete (alternative variety) and his very performative live, Gwendoline (shlag wave), Lalalar (Istambul sound system) spearhead of the Istanbul underground scene and finally Johnnie Carwash (cool pop garage) to turn on the stage by Bolegason.
For the last day, Saturday 5th November, Pierre de Maere, Belgian singer-songwriter, will arrive with his flagship title “Un Jour, Je Marierai un Ange” with which he obtained a gold single. You will also discover the young artist Julien Granel and his “feel good pop”, Alexia Gredy and her album “Hors saison” and Lass, the artist trained in the Dakar sound systems. Finally, it mixes accordion-style medieval music with metal, jazz and Gregorian chant … and this gives the Ckraft group! Yes, you have to hear it to believe it …
