Castres. Indara’s golden “choir” in concert on Sunday

the essential
The Indara ensemble of Basque singing, originally from the region, will be at the Saint Jean-Saint Louis church.

The character and charm of the Basque songs conveyed with passion by the Indara men’s choir will resonate with brilliance on Sunday March 13 at 5 p.m. in the Saint Jean-Saint Louis church.

The 18 singers (and 1 guitarist), all from the region, led by Pascal Lorenzon, will give voice, for almost 2 hours, through an eclectic repertoire, articulated around sacred songs, traditional songs and popular songs. The Indara formation, with a great reputation, shines in France and abroad, for 27 years, and has, to its credit, 850 concerts; from Occitania to Prague, via Lisbon, Paris and other places.

This Castres concert is dedicated to one of the singers who died recently: Michel Thivend. “Singer of the Indara choir, but also a man of the theatre, a painter of great talent, an outstanding cook to entertain his friends, Michel had more than one string to his bow when it came to culture or conviviality”.

The singers of Indara, who have not forgotten his beautiful bass voice and his kindness, have decided to pay him a fine tribute by giving a concert in Castres in his memory.

The vocal program is also open to Russian, Catalan and South American cultures, the singing of men being universal. These powerful but nuanced voices complement each other, distinguish themselves and then merge in harmony and reveal the peace of the world (auspicious, currently). The art of singing here is fully inspired by the singers of Indara, enlightened and passionate amateurs.

Of any “chorus” with their friend, Michel, Indara will give the best of himself next Sunday.

Ticket office at the entrance, €12.
