castres. Indara Golden “Choir” in concert on Sunday

the essential
The Indara ensemble of Basque singing, originally from the region, will be at the church of Saint Jean-Saint Louis.

The character and charm of the Basque songs transmitted with passion by the male choir of Indara will resonate with brilliance on Sunday 13 March at 5 pm in the church of Saint Jean-Saint Louis.

The 18 singers (and 1 guitarist), all from the region, led by Pascal Lorenzon will give voice, for almost 2 hours, through an eclectic repertoire, articulated around sacred songs, traditional songs and popular songs. The Indara formation, of great fame, has been shining in France and abroad for 27 years, and has to its credit 850 concerts; from Occitania to Prague, via Lisbon, Paris and other places.

This Castres concert is dedicated to one of the recently deceased singers: Michel Thivend. “Singer of the Indara choir, but also a man of the theatre, a very talented painter, an exceptional cook to entertain friends, Michel had more of a string in his bow than he did when it came to culture or conviviality”.

Indara’s singers, who have not forgotten her beautiful bass voice and kindness, have decided to pay her a nice tribute by giving a concert in Castres in her memory.

The vocal program is also open to Russian, Catalan and South American cultures, the singing of men being universal. These powerful yet nuanced voices complement each other, stand out and then blend in harmony and reveal world peace (auspicious, currently). The art of singing here is fully inspired by Indara singers, enlightened and passionate amateurs.

Of every “choir” with her friend Michel, Indara will give her best next Sunday.

Ticket office at the entrance, €12.
