The 2022 sporting year could not have started better for the Castres-Gourjade golf teams. On the facilities of the Mazamet La Barouge golf course, golfers and golfers from Castres have indeed particularly shone, both in teams and individually, within the framework of the Tarn championships. Composed of Florine Gaillac (captain), Marion Gaillac, Claire Dang, Maryline Lokteff, Nadine Mathieu, Nicole Peter and Lydie Lafuente, the women’s team dominated all their opponents to climb to the top step of the podium and thus win the title of Tarn champion. A departmental title which was not the only laurels brought back by the Castraises. As a good captain, Florine Gaillac also adorned herself with gold and therefore achieved the double. The gentlemen not wanting to be outdone, the team made up of Cyril Hourquet (captain), Christian Passemar, Matthieu Rodriguez, Léo Testas, Guillaume Dax and Guillaume Lassalle fought well. After a superb tournament, this team finished on the second step to adorn themselves with silver and thus become vice-champion of the Tarn. In the individual competition, Cyril Hourquet came very close to great happiness. The valiant Castres captain was only beaten by the winner of this championship. A small point that makes a big difference since Cyril Hourquet finally had to settle for third place. All the same a beautiful bronze medal which completes the panoply of the Castres-Gourjade golf teams. A very good overall record in terms of medals and quality of play which rewards the involvement of each of the players and highlights the very good work of coach Guillaume Laquais. There is no doubt that Florine, Marion, Claire, Maryline, Nadine, Nicole, Lydie, Cyril, Christian, Matthieu, Léo, and the two Guillaumes will be keen to renew such an operation during future competitions in the department or beyond the borders of the Tarn.
