The Cadet and Junior Track Athletics Occitanie Championships took place near Perpignan. A competition which allowed several members of Tarn Sud Athlétisme to distinguish themselves. However, the wind did not facilitate the task of the athletes whose performances were often hampered by Aeolus. A wind which was also sometimes too favorable for the performances to be validated, which reduced the points distributed in the ranking. Engaged in the 100 meters final, Camille Albarède set a time of 12”77 which allowed her to climb to the third step of the podium in the cadet competition. In the juniors, Anthony Velasco was adorned with gold thanks to a time of 50”32 over 400 meters. Like the pole vault and height competitions, where the judges were obliged to hold the bar until the last moment, the wind disturbed the various competitions quite a bit. The TSA athletes nevertheless managed to play
elements to decorate the display case with the medals a little more. Medals that will be distributed during the general assembly of the League in order to fully respect the health protocol. Junior Aurore Mur finished second in the long jump with a jump to 5.41m. The cadets fully took part in the harvest of medals thanks to Jonas Vitale’s bronze in length (6.54m) and especially to their treble in the javelin throw. Mattis Barbié (49.90m) in gold, Thomas Barbié (42.78m) in silver and Alexis Solaux (42.71m) in bronze. A prolific competition which will unfortunately be the last of the year on the track for cadets and juniors since the French championships which were to take place in Evry have been canceled. Four Sud-Tarnais had qualified for this national meeting. An important meeting awaits the youngest of Tarn Sud Athlétisme tomorrow. On the facilities of the Colette Besson stadium in Lunel (Hérault), the Equip’Athle 2020 regional final will take place. A qualifying event for the national final for which the TSA boys have already qualified.
