And then I was launched, so I said to myself as much to continue the adventure and try the national competition without being too convinced of the final result, “says Coralie Da Silva, still very moved. “In total, there were six tests to do over a whole day. And I had only one subject in advance to prepare myself, it was the free subject. I had to make a rosette on the theme of the cathedral. de Chartres. For the rest, it was a big surprise. The trials followed one another, it was really intense as a day. I was exhausted! But it taught me a lot of things, “recalls the young woman. The contest ended at 5.15 p.m. and the long-awaited results fell at 6.30 p.m. “We had to at least get the score of 18/20 to win the gold medal. And then the jury gave us a feedback on our work. For my part, they told me that I had been consistent on all of them. the events. It touched me enormously “, adds Coralie Da Silva.

A passport for employment

“I am very proud of her”, confides Margot Pech, one of the four associates of the company Floralis, which herself was elected best apprentice in France, in front of a professional jury in 2017, in the category ” Market action sale “. “I accompanied her to Chartres, from start to finish! After her professional baccalaureate, Coralie wants to pass the patent of techniques of the trade (BTM) to be able to create large decorations for events and then, she wishes to pass her master’s certificate and ultimately become a master craftsman.

A very popular competition

The competition “One of the Best Apprentices of France” was created in 1985, at the initiative of Paul Labourier, MOF teacher of Morbihan, initially at the departmental level, then regional, and finally national since 2001. This competition knows a rather exceptional growth throughout the national territory, since more than 6,000 candidates register each year in more than 90 professions. It is aimed at young people under the age of 21, in initial training (CAP, BEP and Bac Pro) from public or private establishments, under school status or under an apprenticeship contract.
