Mental health information weeks are held across France from 10 to 23 October on the theme: “Mental health and the environment”. The opportunity for the sector to raise awareness, inform and publicize the different approaches to mental health. In Castres the closing of these weeks is free and open to all. It will take place on Saturday at 6 pm, rue Mérigonde 22, at the Tlable des Ateliers in a festive atmosphere with the return of photos and videos of the workshops and the inaugural march set up by and in the organizing structures, an outdoor stage and a concert with two groups organized by the association la Lune derrire les Granges.
The closure of the SISM is a highlight for the three organizing structures and their beneficiaries.
The Mutual Aid Group (GEM) Les Ailes, the social life support service (SAVS) Le Lien and the medical-social support service for disabled adults (SAMSAH) La Planésié, approved for the occasion, welcomed speakers during the year to set up, among other things, writing workshops with Valérie Delon, artistic creations from recycled objects with Agnès Pain, or even mime theater with Jacques Lutran, aka Clown Globus.
“The goal of these weeks is both to make the mental health sector known to the general public and to break the isolation of people in psychological distress”, explains Thierry Boulanger, animator of GEM Les Ailes. This garden enthusiast has set up a workshop for 12 years to give life to “Le Jardin des Z’Ambulants” with members, original horticultural art projects, consisting of plants, sculptures, texts with its palaver trees and all kinds of creations. It will be possible to discover part of this garden during the closing by listening to rock and roll with the Grob group and DJ Lou Strummer. Catering is possible on site. In short, an event full of participation and open to all awaits you.
