The Santo Domingo Lions receive the National District Titans today at 8:00 pm at the Mauricio Báez Club, in the semifinal B
Anyeuri Castle scored 25 points and Soles of Santo Domingo East beat the Indians 84-77 San Francisco de Macorisin the first match of semifinal A of the National Basketball League (LNB) held in the mario ortega.
Castillo was escorted by 21 points from Waverly Austin and 14 from Gerardo Suero, for a team of Soles (1-0) that were ahead in almost the entire game and supported by a great defense. Timmy Bond was back for the winners and finished with 7 points.
For the Indians (0-1), Adonis Henríquez finished with 19 in scoring, Juan Miguel Suero and Kavell Bigby-Williams had 15 points each, while debutant Chris Jones, who replaced Breein Tyree on the reinforcements list of the francomacorisanos, scored 12.
The Indians pressed in the fourth quarter and at times were one basket away from tying the game, but with 2:27 left, Castillo grabbed an offensive rebound and scored two points in front of the rim that took the Suns 80-74 up.

Gerardo Suero poured a bucket of cold water on the Indians by getting a three-point shot with 1:21 left that made it 83-74. On the rest of the way, those from San Francisco de Macorís were not a threat to those led by Julio César Javier. The quarters ended 21-23, 19-17, 24-18 and 20-19 for the Suns.
Game number two between the Soles and the Indios will be this Thursday at 8:00 p.m. at the Simón Orozco de Invivienda sports center.
The first three quarters
Henriquez gave the Indians a 20-13 lead with a shot from mid-range with 2:13 remaining in the first quarter.
The Suns scored 8 of the next 11 points, including two from José Familia in the last second, but the quarter ended 23-21 for the locals. Tony Mitchell scored two points near the rim and the Suns took a 32-23 lead with 5:40 left in the second quarter.
However, the first half ended tied 40-40, thanks to six straight points from Jones.
