A new section of sappers joined the strength of the 31st Engineer Regiment at Castelsarrasin. The insignia ceremony was once again held behind closed doors.
A month after a first contingent joined the strength of the 31st Engineer Regiment (our edition of February 23), a new promotion of sappers has just received their beret and their insignia, including the famous Cherifian star, during a ceremony held as a tradition on the Port-Lyautey place of arms at the Marescot garrison, in Castelsarrasin.

Their first military ceremony
Just returned from three months spent at the Angoulême initial military training center, within the 1st Marine Infantry Regiment, the young Castelsarrasinois soldiers from Lieutenant Clément’s section thus experienced their very first military ceremony. A demonstration which took place behind closed doors, Covid obliges.

The ceremony began with an inspection of the troops by Commander Amarande, commander of the troops, before the arrival of Lieutenant-Colonel Jérôme Dejouy, second in command of the 31st Engineer Regiment in the absence of the corps commander currently in exercise in Texas. (USA).
the promotion major Private Darryl was honored to recite the word of the soldier of France. He thus received the distinction of military 1st class. After awarding Lieutenant Julien the gold medal for national defense, gold level and reading the testimony of satisfaction to Captain Adrian, Lieutenant-Colonel Dejouy paid the honors to the regimental flag, the ceremony ended with a parade on foot of young volunteers.
The latter will begin their specialty technical training (FTS) in a few days in order to acquire engineering know-how.
