Valentín Castellanos opened his tally with a bang this season in Major League Soccer (MLS), scoring no less than four goals in New York City FC’s convincing 6-0 victory over Real Salt Lake on Sunday at Yankee Stadium.
Castellanos quickly opened the scoring from a ninth-minute corner kick. He then netted twice on penalty kicks and then added a goal as he took advantage of a poor turnover in the repair area.

The striker was shut out in his first five games of the MLS campaign, but he has scored twice in four CONCACAF Champions League outings.
Thiago Andrade was the other goalscorer for the home favourites, twice thwarting goalkeeper Zac MacMath, who was tested on no less than 12 occasions.
With this victory, the New York team has more than doubled its production since the start of the season, having now scored 11 times in six games. She is thus approaching three points from CF Montreal and a place in the playoffs portrait.
