Castelginest. Collège Mauré awarded in the school comic book competition

The results of the school comic book competition of the Angoulême International Festival 2020 have been unveiled. Elikia Guerry, pupil of the Jacques Mauré College in Castelginest, was awarded a “Petit Fauve de Bronze”. Among the laureates, Alice Goujon, from the College Paul Cézanne de Montrabe, also won a small “fauve d’Argent”. Like Jérémie Moreau, president of the jury for the school comic book competition for this 2019/2020 edition, many professional authors were awarded in this competition when they were still children and adolescents. Today, he continues to highlight the youngest comic strip talents in France, who may in turn become the great authors of tomorrow. The 2019-2020 edition was all the more special, since 2020 was declared “year of the comic strip” by the Minister of Culture, Franck Riester. Among the forty or so national winners of Petits Fauves d’or, four of them will be awarded, during the Discovery Awards ceremony of the 48th edition of the Festival, in January 2021, one of the following prizes: Graphic design award , Screenplay Prize, Hope Prize and Angoulême Prize for school comics. For Elikia, it is the recognition of a demanding competition and the discovery for the other students of her magical graphic universe.

The next 2020-2021 School Comic Contest is launched. All schools and schoolchildren from the large section of kindergarten to the final are invited to participate, until March 3, 2021. With confinement and many activities stopped, no doubt that the drawing competitions should know a boom in their success.
