The understaffing problems of the islands in the middle of summer are serious
An extremely serious problem remains for the islands of understaffing to medical personnel.
In Caso, a rural doctor is called upon to cope with the needs of the entire island, with the mayor appealing to find doctors to staff the island’s health structures.
“Fortunately, there are residents on the island who are vacationing during this period and who are assisting the doctor’s work,” said the mayor of Kasos, speaking to OPEN.
The “temporary” solution that gives the Ministry of Health, understandably, it does not satisfy the islanders as they are about to be deployed for two three days doctors from her hospital Karpathos.
