It’s been a couple of months since HRF and Casino Cosmopol ended negotiations on redundancies. Shortly afterwards, the unions were called to new negotiations. But then there was a question of total closure of Casino Cosmopol in Sweden.
– It came as a bit of a surprise when we had just finished two labor shortage negotiations and had one ongoing. We weren’t done in Stockholm yet.
– You can direct strong and justified criticism at the management. It feels quite amateurish, says Eva-Lotta Ramberg, federal lawyer at HRF.

The hotel and restaurant union and the Union jointly demanded that a wage consultant be engaged.
The task was to conduct a review of the finances and the basis for the decision to close down. Eva-Lotta Ramberg does not want to say anything about the report before the board has made its decision.
However, she had hoped that the management would be more responsive to the employees’ ideas since it was clear that Casino Cosmopol was facing difficult financial challenges.
– It will be so depressing for our members. They have not been heard for a single thing they have proposed. There has only been no for an answer. It has already been decided. It goes quickly and without any deeper analysis.
Our firm opinion is that this is not the right way to go.

But Eva-Lotta Ramberg doesn’t want to give up hope just yet.
– Our firm opinion is that this is not the right way to go. I also understand that the company is bleeding and you have to do something. But they would have done a completely different analysis of their business and taken help from the unions.
– We hope that the board of directors of Svenska Spel will make a decision that the possibilities for continued operations need to be investigated further.
