Once dubbed “America’s most hated mother,” Anthony suggested in a 2022 documentary that her mother and father were involved in the 2008 death of her daughter Caylee Anthony.
Anthony was charged with murder for the death, but was acquitted of the murder.
In the hope of dispelling suspicions surrounding them, parents George and Cindy Anthony have now taken a lie detector test in connection with a new documentary.
In the documentary, a retired FBI agent asks the parents a series of questions about the case.
– Have you ever had sexual contact with Casey? George is asked about.
– Did you knowingly and intentionally hide Caylee’s whereabouts? he is asked further.

“Failed her again and again”

In the 2022 documentary and during the trial, Casey accused her father of repeatedly abusing her as a child, writes New York Post.

– Everything comes back to my father, she says in the documentary.
– I know what he did to me, and that’s what I feared. I had one task, to keep her safe. I let her down again and again and again, because I was still protecting the person who hurt me, Anthony says of his daughter.
The father has previously denied all his daughter’s accusations.
Casey was arrested in 2008 for Caylee’s disappearance. The two-year-old was last seen on June 16, 2008, but was first reported missing by Casey’s mother on July 15. Casey told police that Caylee had disappeared with a babysitter.

For almost six months, volunteers across the country searched for the child and followed up hundreds of leads.
On December 11, an employee working in a wooded area near Casey’s Florida home found skeletal remains later determined to be Caylee’s.

Experts testified that air samples indicated that decaying human remains had been in Casey Anthony’s trunk.

Casey was charged with murder, and the trial in 2011 led to a media storm with great international attention.
The prosecution proved that Casey lied, but did not convince the jury much else. Prosecutors were unable to prove how Caylee died, and they could not find her mother’s DNA on the tape they believed was used to suffocate her.
The lead attorney on Casey’s defense team argued that Caylee drowned accidentally and that the death was covered up, although Casey said she does not believe her daughter drowned in the family pool.
At the same time, the prosecution claimed that Casey suffocated the girl with chloroform and then covered the toddler’s mouth with duct tape.
After a trial lasting over a month, the jury spent less than 11 hours finding Casey not guilty of first degree murder, grossly negligent homicide and aggravated child abuse.

Casey was convicted of four counts of lying to the police and was given credit for the three years she spent in prison awaiting trial.

Anthony is said to have been asked by several television companies to take a televised lie detector test, but has so far refused to participate.
Casey “gives a lift” in her parents’ willingness to take the lie detector test, a source says.
– She says she knows the truth, and so do her parents. A lie detector test will not change the truth, the source continues.
Casey Anthony was released from prison in 2011 and now lives in Florida.
