“Cases of Remarkable Marty” Returns with a New Twist: Jana Plodková Joins the Cast
The highly anticipated second series of Cases of Extraordinary Marty is set to premiere on Nova on 23 February, bringing fresh intrigue and a new face to the beloved show. This season, the series welcomes Jana Plodková, a well-known actress, who will portray Eva Fišerová, a character from the General Inspection of Security Forces (GIBS).
Directed once again by the dynamic duo Marek Najbrt and tomáš Pavlíček, the new series will consist of eight episodes, continuing the story that captivated audiences in its debut season. The show, inspired by a French-Belgian model, blends comedy and crime in a way that has resonated deeply with viewers.
Plodková’s character, Eva Fišerová, is described as a woman who “enters the life of our main character, played by Roman Zach, and quiet complicates his life,” as Najbrt reveals. Pavlíček adds, ”She comes to the department to check what happened at the end of the first series.And while investigating, she becomes entangled in the internal relationships, particularly with Roman’s character, Adam Kreiner.”
The addition of Plodková brings a new dynamic to the show, as her comedic talent shines in the role of the determined Eva Fišerová. She joins Tatiana Dyk, who reprises her role as Marta Adamcová, a sharp-witted and unconventional investigator. Dyk’s character, a twice-divorced mother of three, is a “brilliant but unrestricted element” who accelerates investigations with her unique approach.
The ensemble cast also includes Anita Krausová as the decisive police chief, alongside Jiří Svoboda and Táňa malíková as investigators. Together, they navigate a world of love, jealousy, competition, and loss, all while unraveling complex murder cases.
The first series of Cases of Extraordinary Marty was a resounding success,averaging 1.043 million viewers per episode and peaking at 1.12 million for its finale. Zach notes that the show fills a gap in the Czech entertainment landscape, stating, “We have a lot of serious detective stories, but a genre like this was missing.”
As the new season approaches, fans can expect the same blend of humor and suspense that made the first series a hit, now enriched by Plodková’s compelling performance.
