Cases of dengue fever rise in western Aceh, officials fog up residents’ homes

Western AcehAceh – Dengue hemorrhagic fever cases (DDB extension) in West Aceh district continues to increase, to counter the transmission of the disease, the health service through the local Johan Pahlawan Health Center has carried out the eradication of mosquito nests (PSN) in several locations.

Yusnizar, Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DBD) Program Manager (PJ) at Johan Pahlawan Health Center, said: tarnish This is only done if there is a case of transmitting the dengue disease called an infectious mosquito, which means that the mosquito contains the dengue virus. “Yes, because the fogging is only aimed at breaking the chain of transmission of DHF that occurs somewhere, because there are people with DHF, we are doing the fogging today,” Yunizar said.

He continued, in 2022 there will be about 35 cases that will be transmitted to the community compared to 2021 only 20 cases affected by Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) in West Aceh.

“This year, out of 35 cases, only two cases were seriously affected, namely dengue shock syndrome (DSS), where at that time the patient was bleeding from the gums and bleeding in the mouth. Thank God, all these cases they healed,” Yunizar said.

Meanwhile, the head of the Johan Pahlawan health center, Desi Resita, said that in regards to the prevention of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF), his party continues to socialize the community. “We continue to educate and socialize the community, as well as tell residents to respect the 3Ms, which is to drain, close and recycle used goods so that mosquito nests are not created everywhere,” Desi explained.

According to the head of the health center, the problem of dengue hemorrhagic fever (BDB) will be solved if all levels of residents are willing to jointly maintain the cleanliness of the environment. “If residents don’t keep their environment clean, it will be quite difficult for us to fight DHF, because a dirty environment will become a breeding ground for mosquitoes,” he said.
