THIRUVANANTHAPURAM ∙ While the police have registered a case against the UDF activists who showed black flags to the Chief Minister during the Navakerala yatra, there are very few cases against the CPM activists who beat up the protestors by the parallel police. From Kasaragod to Thiruvananthapuram, those who showed the black flag were brutally beaten up by the CPM workers. Often the police are spectators. Many complaints have not been prosecuted. The Chief Minister had also justified that the CPM workers had carried out a ‘rescue operation’.

The Chief Minister defended himself by saying that he did not see Anil Kumar being beaten, but finally, according to the court order, the police had to file a case against Anil and another security officer Sandeep under the non-bailable section.
