KOMPAS.com – Y, ambulance driver Toyota Alphard at Parepare described his experience when asked to transport the body Covid-19 which had just been demolished in a grave in Lemoe Village, Bacukiki District, Parepare City, South Sulawesi.
“I think what will be transported is a new corpse. When on the trip I was suspicious, usually transporting the corpse from home to the cemetery, this is the other way around,” said Y.
Arriving at the burial site, he saw that two graves had been dismantled. Then, there are two bodies that are ready to be transported. Y admitted that he had refused.
“Arriving at the cemetery, at first I refused, then the family asked me to transport 2 bodies at the same time. Given that the ambulance is also used for social action,” explained Y.

In that case, the police asked Y as a witness and secured the ambulance he was driving.
The Toyota Alphard ambulance is thought to belong to a political party.
“This car is temporarily secured as evidence,” said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Parepare Police, Iptu Asian Sihombing, Wednesday (17/3/2021).

From several dismantled graves, the police found only empty coffins, while the bodies were missing.
Then there is another tomb that looks collapsed. It is suspected that the grave had already been dug up to take the body, then closed the hole again.
“We have carried out the crime scene processing, and have also confiscated a number of evidence in the grave, including the flip-flops in the uncovered grave,” said Asian.
Family burial
Meanwhile, according to Head of Suppa Sub-district Andi Amran, four bodies are confirmed to be missing.
However, his party claimed to have found three bodies. The three bodies have also been buried by the deceased’s family respectively in three different cemeteries.
“After it went viral, we did a search, we found 3 bodies of Covid-19 from the Covid-19 Cemetery in Parepare found in our work area, Suppa District,” he said.
Six suspects and alleged motives
From the results of an interim investigation, the police have named six suspects.
Head of Public Relations of the South Sulawesi Regional Police, Kombes E Zulpan, said the six suspects were AK, NA, AAS, A, D, and R. They were arrested on Sunday (14/3/2021) afternoon.
“Those who take or dismantle the graves are still family ties with the bodies of Covid-19 victims,” Zulpan told reporters, Monday (15/3/2021).
In addition, related to motives, Zulpan said the six suspects claimed to have received the mandate of the deceased from a dream.
“According to provisional statements from the perpetrators, they claimed to be burdened with a mandate because they had met in a dream and the corpse asked to have their graves removed,” added Zulpan.
