M alias Amaq Sinta (34) can now breathe a sigh of relief. Not only has he been released from prison, the resident of Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) is now free from his status as a suspect in a murder case.
The status of the murder suspect who had ensnared Amaq Sinta was indeed highlighted by many parties, including the National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo. Sigit guarantees justice for Amaq Sinta.
“The NTB Police Chief has carried out the case title and will soon carry out the investigation press release regarding the case of Mr. Amaq Sinta to provide legal certainty by upholding the principles of proportionality, legality, accountability, and necessity,” wrote Sigit on his official Instagram account, as seen detik.comSaturday (16/4/2022).
The Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police, Komjen Agus Andrianto, also opened his voice. Agus suggested an investigation into the murder case that was carried out Amaq Sinta discontinued.
“(The investigation should) stop in my opinion. Then the community will become apathetic, afraid to fight crime. We must fight crime together. My advice to the NTB Police Chief is to invite the case that happened with the prosecutor’s office, community and religious leaders there to ask for input, Is it appropriate for this case to be carried out through a legal process. The legitimacy of the community will be the basis for the next steps for the NTB Police, “he said.
To note, this case began with the discovery of the bodies of two men covered in blood in Central Lombok on Monday (11/4) early in the morning. It was later discovered that the two men were robbers who were killed by their potential victims.
The victim of the robbery, Amaq Sinta, was instead named a suspect in a murder case due to a self-defense action that he carried out which left two robbers dead.
On Thursday (14/4), the NTB Police finally took over the case of the robbery victim as a suspect. This case was initially handled by the Central Lombok Police.
Acquisition of case matters Amaq Sinta carried out since the police granted the family’s request for a suspension of detention for Amaq Sinta. Amaq Sinta is no longer in custody but remains a suspect.
