Behind the stage name of Casadilego hides Elisa coclite, originally from a small town in Abruzzo, Montorio al Vomano, a small village in the province of Teramo (where she lives). The passion for music and singing, for the guitar and for Ed Sheeran, are the stages of his career as a young artist. The passion for Sheeran inspired the young woman to take her stage name, Casadilego, from the title of a song by the British singer-songwriter: Lego House.

The phrase that appears on his Instagram profile, Kindness rebellion, the one that defines it. Kindness, says Elisa’s father, Massimiliano, is the distinctive trait of this young artist, daughter of musicians who are both teachers of the Coservatorio: I in L’Aquila – says Massimiliano Coclite -, my wife in Teramo. To teaching we alternate activities as usual and in a group, the Traim Azul (Blue Train in Portuguese), a band with which we have been playing since 2005 and with whom we have recorded three original Brazilian music discs.

With two parents like that, Elisa she has breathed music since she was a child. Found herself in a musically fertile environment – continues Coclite -, my wife did the last concert when she was 8 months pregnant. We took Elisa with us during our performances, we took her back to the stage in a wheelchair with a friend who cradled her. He began studying classical piano early, his goal of graduating. She has two teachers, Maestro Giuseppe Patriarca, and a younger boy, Cesare Di Cesare, who follows her for the guitar that she started playing self-taught at about 9 years or so. He also studied cello with Eugenia Di Bonaventura, who was part of the 100 Cellos ensemble.

After studying cello, Elisa sang from 8 to 15 years old in a choir of children’s voices: With this formation she was the protagonist of an Oratorio by Haydn, of Mozart’s Magic Flute, in which she was one of the three putti, and sang the shepherd in Tosca: three performances, the last one at the Marrucino Theater in Chieti. Elisa’s musical passions are many: She began with the Beatles, but among her idols there were One Direction and of course Ed Sheeran, at the concert in Rome was in the front row, left home two days earlier to conquer that place. AX Factor sang for a song by Joni Mitchell, which belongs to a musical generation far from her … Joni one of the many artists that Elisa knows. He has eclectic musical tastes, loves Chet Baker, and Milton Nascimiento. Its name is a tribute from my wife to the Brazilian singer Elis Regina, of whom a big fan, who grew up with random plays that derive from her parents’ work.

Elisa cannot speak to journalists due to confidentiality agreements with the X Factor production. But to dad and mom she said she was very excited for the talent show: We were in lockdown when she made the first moves for the selections – recalls Elisa’s dad -, my wife followed her, I was busy with my teaching job. it was a great experience, he told us, a beautiful occasion. She makes her videos for Instagram in his bedroom, performing in front of millions of people, on TV, definitely another experience. Which she did without setting expectations. Goals yes, expectations no.

E that Billie Eilish hair? Elisa a very simple girl, she started dyeing her hair at 8 because she wanted to imitate her cartoon idols. She reads, loves cinema, like many of her peers. if anything he has this visceral passion compared to them, he spends all the time of his days composing music and, for a couple of years, also writing the lyrics of his songs. And this even before “X Factor”.

Elisa’s dreams, her dad continues, are those of a girl 17 year old who loves to sing. For now in his plans there is no idea of starting a family, I think it’s too early: his world, music, friends. And we want her to be free to choose to do what she wants. To be able to go wherever he wants. the wish we parents make to her. Seeing her on TV was exciting. I was struck by her performance, but even more – believe me she can do better – her ability to reach the heart. And this I say more as a musician than as a parent.
