Casablanca: A repeat offender arrested for thefts under the threat of a knife on board two

Elements of the Casablanca police headquarters succeeded, Friday at noon, in arresting a 27-year-old repeat offender, suspected of being involved in two robberies at stabbing aboard two public transport buses, one of which is associated with an attempted kidnapping of the victim.

The national security services had received, Friday morning, a notification concerning an attempt to kidnap one of the victims under the threat of a stab on board an urban transport bus in the Hay Hassani district, before it does not expose the bus driver to the same threat, said the Directorate General of National Security (DGSN) in a statement.

Security operations on the ground were stepped up, which immediately enabled the suspect to be identified and arrested in possession of the knife used in this attack, the statement said.

Investigations and investigations carried out by the national security services showed that the respondent was also involved in the commission of a similar theft aboard another urban transport SUV in the Ben M’sik area, which allowed him to steal a cell phone that had been seized in his possession at the time of his arrest, added the same source. The individual was placed in police custody at the disposal of the investigation conducted under the supervision of the competent prosecution, in order to determine all the ins and outs of the commission of these criminal acts, concluded the DGSN.
