The Casa Chihuahua Museum invites the general public to go on a journey through the different regions of Andalusia, through the different representative styles of flamenco music, in the exhibition of the group “Los Mexitanos”.
As part of the Thursday Open Doors scheme, a “Flamenco Music Night” concert will be held at Casa Chihuahua on August 29, 2024 at 7:00 p.m., where a tour of the cultural richness of this genre will be held, and its characteristics will be presented and its beauty is known throughout the world.
Flamenco is a genre of music and art that was born in Andalusia, southern Spain, in the 18th century. Its origins go back to the dance mix of the gypsies, Arabs and Jews who lived in the area.
Over time, flamenco became a symbol of Andalusian and Spanish cultural identity and spread throughout the world.
“Los Mexitanos” is a group born in 2020 with the mission to promote and share flamenco music in the state of Chihuahua. Its four members, with years of dedication, came together to create a project that aims to promote this genre.
Since its creation, “Los Mexitanos” has participated in different stages in some cities of the state such as Parral, Delicias and Cuauhtémoc. In 2022 they won the Red de Teatros program and performed their show “Fiesta Flamenca” at the Fernando Saavedra Theater.
Admission is free, with prior registration on the website www.casachihuahua.org.mx.
