The publisher Egmont reports this in a press release on Monday.

– It is with great sadness that we have to announce that series creator and author Dina Norlund has died, the publisher writes.

– It is completely unimaginable that such a brilliant talent as Norlund is now running out of time. Norlund was an incredibly stylish and skilled draftsman and her little snow cat prince Syv melts children’s hearts all over the world, says editor-in-chief Tonje Tornes in Egmont.

According to the publisher, Norlund died of cancer.

– In recent years, Norlund has fought a battle against cancer, while at the same time she was able to happily follow her little snow cat prince out into the world. We are proud that her work will soon be available to people in many countries, and we will continue her legacy and make the book available to even more people, says Tornes.

Norlund debuted with the book “Snøkatprinsen” in 2020. The comic book has been printed in over 15,000 copies and has been sold to several countries, including the USA – where she received a star from the prestigious website Kirkus. An honor that belongs to only 10 percent of children’s books published in the United States.

France is also embracing the cartoonist, and her French editor Flore Piacentino says the following about the tragic news:

– Dina Norlund will forever be a great artist of an international format. As big as the void she now leaves behind. Her passing is a terrible shock to the world of art and literature, says the French editor.

Comic book colleague Malin Falch (30) received the news of his death with great sadness. The two are at the same publishing house and have followed each other for several years.

GOOD COLLEAGUE: Malin Falch, who is behind the best-selling series “Nordlys”, remembers his colleague and friend.

– Dina never lost her zest for life. Until she suddenly wasn’t there anymore, says Falch to VG.

She describes Dina Norlund as one of Norway’s best artists.

– She leaves behind a lot of beauty that the rest of us can look up to. She was an artist role model for many – and also reached many through her own YouTube channel. I will also remember her as a fun-loving and colorful person, and someone who achieved a lot during her 27 years, says Malin Falch.

On March 1, a farewell ceremony will be held for Dina Nordlund in the main hall of the old Deichman library, and Norlund’s family welcomes everyone.

Dina Norlund was born in Oslo in 1995 and studied drawing at the prestigious FZD School of Design in Singapore. She has had a large following on social media, and hundreds of thousands of fans have followed her drawing course on YouTube.
